Kal Raat Ek Baddli Aaee

ਕਲ ਰਾਤ ਇਕ ਬੱਦਲੀ ਆਈ 'ਤੇ ਵਰ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ
ਨੈਣਾਂ ਮਿਰਾਂ 'ਚੋਂ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੁ(ਗ) ਭਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ

ਜੇਠ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਤੱਪਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਰ-ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ
ਖ਼ੁਦ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ

ਹਾੜੀ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਸੁੰਨ-ਮ-ਸੁੰਨੇ ਖੇਤ ਬਿਲਖਦੇ ਸੀ
ਦੇ ਛਿੱਟਾ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੋਲੀ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ  

ਮੇਰੀ ਹਿੱਕ 'ਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਮਹਿਬੂਬ ਜਿਵੇਂ
ਦੀਵਾਰੀਂ ਉੱਕਰੇ ਚਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ

ਰਾਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਕ ਅਧੂਰੀ ਸੀ
ਮਹਿਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਮੇਲ ਜਿਹਾ ਰਸ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ

ਉਹ ਜਾਣੇ ਓਹੀਓ ਜਾਣੇ ਕਿਸ ਸਬੱਬ ਉਹ ਆਈ ਸੀ
ਦੋ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੌਤਕ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ

ਉਹ ਆਈ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਧੂਣੇ ਭਾਂਬੜ ਬਣ ਬੈਠੇ
'ਨੀਲ' ਦੀ ਹਿੱਕ 'ਤੇ ਧੁੱਖਦਾ ਖ਼ੰਜਰ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ

Hindi Poem 'Triskrit-Hindi' wins third prize

Nagar Raajbhaashaa Karyaanvay Samitee, Patiala’s half-yerly meeting held at Income Tax Office, Patiala on 20^th May, 2014 during which the prize distribution in respect of Hindi promotional events conducted in the 2^nd half of year-2013 was also held in which this meek fellow has been awarded with the third prize for his following Hindi poem titled ‘Triskrit-Hindi’ which has also been published by the Samitee in the very first issue of its magazine named ‘Raajbhaashaa Darpan’, released during the said meet.

तृस्कृत हिन्दी

पूछती है घुप अन्धेरे में से निकली  ये किरण

क्या मेरे प्रकाश को आवास देगा ये चमन

बादलों के पार से हूं झांकती शर्मा के मैं

पुष्प जब हंसते हैं तो लोटती घबरा के मैं

क्यूं भंवर करते नहीं अब मेरे शब्दों का गुंजन

क्यूं मुझी को कोसता अब मेरा अपना नील-गगन

पूछती है……

कल जो कलियां थे वही पुष्प हैं अब हो चुके

शब्द मेरे उनके मुख से रूष्ट हैं अब हो चुके

जिनकी लारों से टपकती थी मैं बन कर तोतली

क्यूं उन्होंनें कर दिया मेरे मातृत्व का हनन्

पूछती है……

तख्तियों पर बंध लटकती अपनों की आंखों में खटकती

वर्ष में इक बार केवल मेरी किस्मत है चमकती

घर हो या दफ्तर हो कोई या कोई मन की गली

क्यूं है घटता जा रहा अब हर जगह मेरा चलन

पूछती है……

संतान भारत वर्ष की थी मेरे आंचल में पली

अब मैं तो जैसे मर चुकी बस मां अंग्रेज़ी हो चली

जिस देश के वीरों नें दी मेरे लिये अपनीं बली

क्यूं उन्हीं की पीढ़ियों नें मुझ पे पहनाए कफन

पूछती है घुप अन्धेरे में से निकली  ये किरण

ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ

ਅਗੇਤੇ-ਅਗੇਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ-ਸਿਆਣੇ
ਪਿਛੇਤੇ-ਪਿਛੇਤੇ ਨਿਆਣੇ-ਨਿਆਣੇ

ਨੁਕਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਹਟਾਏ ਹਟਾਣੇ
ਨੁਕਤੇ ਨਵਾਣੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਲਗਾਣੇ

ਸਿਫਾਰਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਬਣੀ ਹੈ

While Walking on the clouds

I was thinking of you

I was thinking of

Your spirit,

Your dare,

Your guts,

Making countless crew.

I have seen in my life

Marvelous-magic,

Fantastic-false,

And terrible- true

But wonders like you

I have seen a few.

Though,

While walking

I was so much tired

Yet, your memorable picture in my mind

Made me woo.

Undoubtedly,

I was on the top of the world,

I had no worry

What to do

Or not to do  

Even then

While walking on the clouds

I was thinking of you.
