ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ ਗਾਇਕਾ ਰੇਸ਼ਮਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਗਲੇ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੂਝ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਮਿਤੀ ੦੩ ਨਵੰਬਰ, ੨੦੧੩ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਹੋਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਸਿਧਾਰ ਗਈ। ਰੇਸ਼ਮਾ ੧੨ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ-ਰੇਡੀਓ ਉਪਰ "ਓ ਲਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ" ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਣ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਰਾਤੋ-ਰਾਤ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।  ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਗਾਇਕਾ ੧੯੬੦ ਦੇ ਦਸ਼ਕ ਵਿਚ ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਵੇਂ ਬਤੌਰ ਗਾਇਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਹੋਈ। ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਬੀਕਾਨੇਰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਵਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੰਮੀ ਰੇਸ਼ਮਾ ਦੀ ਜਨਮ ਤਿਥੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਈ ਮਿੱਥਾਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਸਦਾ ਜਨਮ ੧੯੪੭ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜਰੀਏ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਰਾਚੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

7th Pay Commission for Central Govt employees

Seventh Pay Commission for central govt employees announced

The government on Wednesday decided to finally announce the Seventh Pay Commission for central government employees. The Commission may submit its report in two years and the recommendations made by it will be implemented by 1 January, 2016.

This move will benefit about 50 lakh central govt employees and 30 lakh pensioners.

Previously the government had admitted that demands were made for setting up of 7th Pay Commission, but no such proposal was under consideration for such exercise.

Last week, the Union Cabinet had approved a proposal to hike dearness allowance to 90 percent from existing 80 percent.

The increase in DA to 90 percent would result in additional annual expenditure of Rs 10,879 crore. 

There would be additional burden of Rs 6,297 crore on exchequer during 2013-14 on account of this hike in DA.
